Anam Raheem is a social & economic justice activist and writer. Most recently, she lived in Palestine for 5 years where she led the launch of coding bootcamps in Gaza and the West Bank, enabling Palestinians access and careers within the global tech industry. Throughout her years living between Gaza City and Ramallah, Anam bore witness to Palestine’s maddening dichotomy – a mosaic of nature, language, and culture studded incessantly by the brutality of colonialism – through phone and film photography. Anam’s writing includes a personal essay published by T A P E Collective (https://www.tapecollective.co.uk/blog/this-is-where-i-live) and a forthcoming short story that was shortlisted by Wasifiri Magazine’s 2021 New Writing Prize (https://www.wasafiri.org/article/2021-new-writing-prize-shortlist/). Anam is a first generation American and the youngest daughter of Pakistani immigrants.
